Inktober 2019
Just a very belated post with this past October’s daily Inktober challenges. I kind of love Inktober, not going to lie.
Hallo!
A belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all! I want to share this years Christmas card and SCBWI December challenge with you. The challenge tagline was 'Sleigh Ride From Hell' which I turned into 'Slay Ride From Hell'. Really, I just wanted an excuse to draw raptors!

When I last checked in, I was working on a challenge piece for a SCBWI competition. The submission date has come and gone, so I feel ok with sharing the finished product. Below is my take on the one and only Little Red Riding Hood. I had a lot of fun working on this and I'm looking forward to finishing the next challenge. (Due in only 10 days! Eek!) But I'm most excited to finish up the new and improved manuscript for the book I've been working on for an eternity. Once that submit button gets hit, I'll be able to begin preliminary illustrations. Although I've had to scrap the hard work I've already put into it, I'm excited to start fresh and approach it the right way. Yay for progress!

Hallo!
It's been a looooooong while since my last post. It's been a very busy, almost illustration free, film season. But Hollywood East is beginning its yearly slow down and I find myself back in my studio. And very happy to be there! I've spent a couple weeks getting back into gear, but I'm full swing now. I'm working on a challenge piece at the moment for an upcoming competition. I can't say much more than that or divulge the full illustration. But I can give you a taste! I'm really proud of it so far and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a win. It was a great project for jumping back into the water and I hope I can share it with everyone soon. xo, aimee
I have found that every cat owner gets a good laugh when they first see this painting. This was a quick illustration inspired by my own ‘Little Devil’ who seems to only be interested in my existence when I work in my studio. The only time he will get close enough to be considered cuddling is when he’s sitting on the drawing I am actively working on. Broken glass lamps, scattered drawing pencils, chewed paint brushes and for some reason I still love him.
